Been A While

So it has been a while since I have been able to update my blog. The last few weeks to month or so have been rather hectic. With me going to the dr. all the time and going to Utah to visit. The last couple months just passed by. I was in Utah in January to visit my mom and grandma whose health is declining. The visit was great but my mom was still not feeling good either and we were not getting any answers.

Then on Feb 7, as I myself was sitting at the Dr. got a call from my brother who was following the ambulance to LDS hospital with my mom. She has been sick since before Christmas and was only getting worse. She was so weak that morning that the only option was to call the ambulance. I waited most the day to hear much news and when my brother called and my mom was in ICU and had many IV 's I knew I needed to get down there.

I arrived the next morning not really knowing to expect. All I knew for sure was she had pneumonia. It came as a surprise to me when I got to the hospital to learn that due to the excessive amounts of Tylenol that all the previous dr's had her on had damaged her liver. After she spent 6 days in ICU they finally moved her to another floor. Good news!! But we still had more.

With the pneumonia and her difficult time swallowing, the drs felt as though she may need a temporary feeding tube. She opted for the permanent route and is now sporting a feeding tube in her stomach. After two weeks in the hospital she was able to come home with her lungs sounding good. As far as the liver goes it is a waiting game but we are hopeful it will recover.

She is now back at work and doing good. She gets to just eat all night long. Once she got home I left a few days later to come back to Washington. I would like to say thank you to everyone for all your thoughts and prayers and offers to help any way possible. For now everything looks good and we hope with the feeding tube she will get the nutrition she was lacking.

Judson Snow Shoeing!

Fun in the Snow!!

Unlike when Mike and I were kids in Montana and Utah and able to just run outside and play in the snow. Here in Washington State there may be one day a year that we can go outside and play but you better make sure you get out there fast before it melts. We decided to go with some friends to Mt. Rainier to enjoy the over abundance of snow by sledding and snow shoeing. Everyone had a blast!!
